Winner Amanda receives her prize from Martin Hindson
Lucky Midsummer Place customer Amanda Knibb was stunned when she won a flat-screen TV and Blu-ray player in the shopping centre’s Christmas competition.
Former teacher Amanda, 36, believed friends were pulling her leg when she heard she had won a state-of-the-art 37 inch Panasonic TV, Blu-ray player and stand, all worth £1,300.
The mother-of-two from Heath and Reach, near Milton Keynes, said: “The day I heard I had won we had no water or heating and our washing machine had broken down and I was pretty fed up so I was convinced it was friends winding me up. I was thrilled when I realised it was true.
“The only other thing I have ever won was a signed copy of a vegetarian cook book by Linda McCartney when I was 19, so I was so pleased.
“We have the biggest old TV you’ve ever seen so this will be fantastic. My little boy just wants to know if he can watch Scooby Doo on it!”
The prize package was supplied by the Panasonic store at Midsummer Place, which offers the very latest products from the high quality electronics firm. Entrants simply had to enter their details on the Centre’s website, www.midsummerplace.co.uk
Midsummer Place Manager Martin Hindson said: “Congratulations to Amanda for winning this great prize, and thanks to everyone who entered the competition.”
