Sport Relief is back - and it's coming to Milton Keynes!

The city is set to host one of Sport Relief's flagship Sainsbury's Sport Relief Miles on Sunday 21st March, and needs local people to show their support by entering now at www.sportrelief.com. The Milton Keynes Mile sets off through the heart of the city from Midsummer Boulevard and promises to be jam-packed day of entertainment for everyone.

Women's international cricketer Claire Taylor (MBE), high jumper Dalton Grant and England ladies badminton player Elizabeth Cann helped launch the event at Xscape Milton Keynes.

Sport Relief started in 2002 and is one of Comic Relief's two public funding initiatives.

17 July - Willen Hospice Midnight Moo 2010

MIDNIGHT MOOOOO-N WALK FOR HOSPICE

Following the success of the first ever MK Midnight Moo in 2009, Willen Hospice is delighted to be organising an even bigger event again for 2010. The 10 mile walk for ladies will start at midnight on Saturday 17th July from Midsummer Place Shopping Centre and follow a circular, well-lit and marshalled route along the redways in Milton Keynes.

1,000 ladies took part in 2009 and raised a massive £100,000 in sponsorship. Paul Hinson, Chief Executive, commented: “The atmosphere was out of this world. This was an amazing event, not only for the Hospice, but for Milton Keynes and we are already looking forward to MK Midnight Moo 2010.”

Entry for the 2010 event remains at just £15 per person and there is no limit or minimum amount you need to raise – but there will be prizes for those ladies bringing in the most sponsorship.

Entrants must be 16 or over (under 18s need the permission from a guardian and must be accompanied by a responsible adult on the walk) and all entrants will receive an MK Midnight Moo T-Shirt, refreshments throughout the course and a medal on finishing.
